COVID-19 Update Friday July 3rd - Lead Rein Lessons Coming Soon!
As from Saturday July 11th we will be starting a limited number of lead rein lessons. All riders must wear their own gloves and be accompanied by an adult who is willing to help them mount and readjust the stirrup length if necessary.
We recommended that all children have their own riding hat, but for those who don't yet have one we will have a number of hats available to borrow. These will be thoroughly sanitised after every use and will therefore only be able to be used once each day.
We are looking forward to welcoming some of our youngest riders back.
To book, please get in touch with Sarah on 07899941509.
COVID-19 Update Thursday June 18th
We have now started our shared private lessons, where two people, who are from different households, can share a half hour session. We are confident that we can easily maintain the social distancing guidelines with just two at a time.
At the moment we are unable to offer group lessons of three people or more unless all riders are all from the same household.
As from next week we will be able to offer lessons to new customers providing that they have their own equipment (hat and gloves, plus whip or spurs if needed) and are experienced enough to mount and dismount unaided and to adjust their own girth and stirrups.
Unfortunately for our youngest or beginner riders we are still not able to offer lead rein
sessions. However as soon as this changes we will let you know.
COVID-19 Update
From Monday May 25th we are delighted to be taking the first steps towards reopening Whitford Riding Stables
There is still a long way to go, but we are looking forward to
welcoming you back on the yard!
We appreciate your patience and flexibility
with our new way of working, which will continue to adapt as the situation changes.
This will allow us to provide the best possible service
while keeping health and safety as the top priority.
- All lessons will be private, on a 1 to 1 basis only.
- We can only offer lessons to existing clients at this time.
- Riders MUST be able to mount, adjust tack, ride and dismount safely, correctly and unassisted. We will only be able to breach the 2m distancing rule in the event of administering first aid.
- Riders MUST bring their own hat and gloves, plus a whip or spurs if needed. You will NOT be able to borrow any equipment. Gloves are compulsory. If you arrive without a hat or gloves then we will be unable to take your lesson.
- Gloves MUST be worn at all times
- Only one spectator per lesson is allowed at this time. They will be able to watch from outside the arena.
- If you or a member of your household show symptoms of covid-19, please do not attend your lesson.
- Please observe all notices and follow the designated route into and out of the yard. Do not walk around the yard unattended and do not approach or touch the horses.
- The 2m social distancing rule MUST be adhered to at all times.
We are continually monitoring the situation, and are working to strict social distancing practices and hygiene rules at all times in the interest of customer and staff safety. We must politely insist that all visitors do the same and follow our new hygiene guidelines while visiting the stables.
Thank you 😊
Founded in 1964, Whitford Riding School is one of the longest established riding schools in Worcestershire. It is owned and run by Sarah Hedges with a small, dedicated team of staff. We have a variety of carefully selected, very experienced, safe and sensible school horses and ponies, and we cater for children and adults of all sizes and abilities. Small children are especially welcome, from 4 years of age. We run individual and group lessons, for adults and children, all day on a Saturday and Sunday. In the week we offer individual lessons for adults and children in the afternoons.
